Thank you to everyone who has run, baked, shaved and created in order to raise funds for SOFT. We are truly grateful to you for your kindness and generosity.
Thanks to the efforts of Sam Crouchman & co, just over £1000 was raised by the Business Academy Bexley through a non-uniform day and wristband sales. Thanks all, it's hugely appreciated!
Martin McLaughlin has entered the Great Scottish Run Half Marathon - taking place on 6th October 2013. Martin is raising money for SOFT UK and Cancer Support Scotland in memory of Ben and Paul. Little Ben was still-born at 38 weeks in 2012, diagnosed with Trisomy 18. Thank you for supporting SOFT - good luck!
Jenni Turner organised a charity Golf Day, which took place at the Leatherhead Golf Club (KT22 0EE) on Thursday 19th September. The event raised money in memory of Alice, the daughter of Jenni's sister Vikki. Alice was lost to Edwards' syndrome at one week old. The event raised £5,500 to be shared with Shooting Star Hospice and CHASE.
The McKenna family had coffee morning on the 3rd March 2013 in memory of their sister Shannon. They each made some homemade goodies and the youngest sister Rachael, aged 12, set up a tombola table which alone raised £65. There was also a table set up on which they displayed Soft UK leaflets and set up a special tribute to their sister with a presentation explaining what Trisomy 18 is.
Everyone was well fed and they still had enough left over to be able to donate evening tea and treats to the local senior nursing home. The coffee morning was well supported by family and friends and they managed to raise £555 for SOFT.
