Bristol Half Marathon
Sean and Caroline Watts completed the Bristol Half Marathon on Sunday 15th of September. They are still collecting donations in memory of their daughter Cerys who was lost to Edwards' syndrome on 15 May 2012. Read more about the race (and see the pics) from Caroline....
"The Bristol Half Marathon was on Sunday, and unbelievably, without stopping or walking at any point I managed to run the whole 13.1 miles. According to the official race stats printed in yesterday’s Bristol Post, my finishing time was 3 hours and 22 minutes, and out of 8,208 finishers I came 8,202, so 6th from last!!!! Sean finished the race in 2 hours 45 minutes.
We were both incredibly nervous before the race began, and weren’t entirely convinced we would be able to do this. I was fine until about the 11th mile, and from there on in I can honestly stay every step run was unbearable! I really struggled to keep going, but thanks to friends and family who came down to Bristol to cheer me on, I somehow found a way to keep running through the pain barrier.
We are still collecting in donation money, but so far across the 3 charities that we ran for, it looks as though we will have raised over £5,000 in total."
