Guidance and Support
Balloons
Balloons provides support for children, young people and their families before an expected death (pre-bereavement) and following the death (postbereavement) of someone significant in their lives. It offers these services to residents of Exeter, Mid, East and West Devon.
Balloons offers the widest range of practical, emotional and social support to children, young people and their families. The charity provides guidance over the phone, a chance to ask questions by email, face-to-face support and an opportunity to meet with others in a similar situation. Balloons can give guidance to professionals and anyone with a role in supporting bereaved children.
The Balloons Grief Support Workers offer support in a number of ways including phone support, face to face support and group events (including a Youth Forum for young people aged 13-17). Balloons also publishes a range of info sheets online including

Child Bereavement UK
Child Bereavement UK supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement. Every year the charity trains over 6000 professionals, helping them to better understand and meet the needs of grieving families.

Daisy’s Dream
Established in 1996, Daisy’s Dream is a professional support service for children and families affected by life threatening illness or bereavement. The team supports children across Berkshire and the surrounding areas by offering a flexible service that is tailored to meet the individual needs of each child and their family.

Our Missing Peace
Our Missing Peace is a charity that support bereaved parents in the UK, whether the child was lost through miscarriage, still birth, neonatally, through accident or illness, or as a teenager or adult. The aim of Our Missing Peace is to provide support to bereaved parents all over the world by creating a unifying symbol, signposting service and educating the public about child loss. They are currently campaigning to raise awareness and break the silence around child loss. Simon Says
This small charity provides support for children and young people within Hampshire, who have a close relative or friend who has died or is terminally ill.
The charity runs a support line, holds family events and support groups that meet regularly. The charity can also offer support to local schools.

In memory of Amelia, our daughter who died on the 14th July 2017, we like to send kindness on its merry way, to make people smile, feel noticed, special, cared for and thanked. On the 14th of every month we like to acknowledge a special someone or even a special few. We know there are lots of people out there who deserve a thank you for who they are and what they do in the world. The nurse who looked after your child, the teacher who went the extra mile, your neighbour who always has time for a chat or a friend who needs a smile, we’d love to give something back to these special souls, but we can’t get to them without you!
