Phoebe Grace
“This is Phoebe Grace Glendinning and today, 7th March 2019 would have been her 13th birthday.
Carried to term with a problem free pregnancy, Phoebe was born with full Trisomy 18 (Edwards’ Syndrome).
Whisked away immediately after she was delivered to the Neonatal ICU for treatment, we got the diagnosis some hours later, finding out just how very ill she was.
She was a little battler, though, and refused to give in. She had a hole in her very tiny heart, a ruptured diaphragm, small lungs and lots of other things wrong resulting in her having to go onto life support immediately to help her.
We spent as much time with her as we could, often holding her little hands while she slept. Her big brother, Henry, visited her, brought her in a teddy and a Tigger, said Hello and Goodbye at the same time.
It almost seemed as if she waited to meet him before passing away the next day in our arms.”
