London Marathon 2024
We are delighted to share Kate’s story and fundraising page for the 2024 London Marathon. Kate is currently training for this incredible event, and we are all cheering her on!
We are also extremely thankful to Helen & Douglas House for lending us one of their marathon places this year, enabling us to have Kate take part.

Kate’s Story:
I am running the London Marathon on April 21st in memory of my son Isaac Christopher.
In 2010, Isaac was diagnosed with a genetic condition called Patau syndrome (Trisomy 13). Sadly, this condition is considered life limiting and Isaac spread his angel wings on 5th November 2010.
Trisomy 13 is caused by the presence of an extra chromosome, this leads to a variety of developmental and health challenges for babies and children like Isaac.
I am running the marathon in support of two wonderful charities, Helen & Douglas House children's hospice and SOFT UK.
Helen and Douglas house help local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child. A homely place for children, providing care in a warm and loving environment. The hospice allows families to create happy memories in their last days, weeks, months or years together.
The charity SOFT UK, provide support and information to all those affected by Patau (T13) and Edwards (T18) Syndrome. They offer advice around diagnosis and ongoing support following the loss of a child affected by the condition.
Every donation will help to ensure families can access the support provided by these this charities when it is needed most.
I will be dedicating each mile to a different baby or child whose life is forever celebrated, loved and never forgotten.
Isaac Will always be my little fusion of hope, courage and joy, remaining in my heart forever. Thank-you for joining me on this journey and for your kind contribution in his name.
