What Is The Family Link List

SOFT UK is looking for families who have their own Trisomy experience to share, who would be keen to offer support to other families on an informal basis.  

For decades families have told us that what makes all the difference to them is contact with other families.

SOFT UK's Support Team provide excellent support to families, but many families simply want to speak to another family who have lived a similar experience to their own.  This gives an opportunity for the family we are supporting to ask questions that may more closely relate to their own journey, and speak to a broader range of people, giving them more information to help them.

We would therefore like to develop a Families Link List, to enable our volunteers to link families who might like to get to know each other.  

What Does It Involve

Being part of the Families Link List means that you are happy for us to connect families with you to discuss their own circumstances. Our support volunteers will find someone who most closely matches the family they are supporting, and reach out before connecting the family with you to make sure you are available and happy to speak.

The communication style you chose is up to you. We can facilitate a meeting on Zoom with the family, yourself, and a SOFT UK volunteer, or you can email, text, or talk on the phone.

Requests to speak with a Family Link List member are few and far between, so you won’t see a large number of families, but we know how important it is to have a broad range of people we can connect families with.
